Weighing

Weighing traffic guide

A brief note about weighing:

All gliders will have to be weighed before the first contest task. We will not be weighing during the contest, but do need to get an inital weight for handicapping. Steve Hill of Twisted Composites will be doing this; his shop is in Hangar 40, he does weighing in the adjacent Hangar 41. We expect to do most of this on the mornings of the practice days, but if you’re here and rigged before then you can get an early weigh. Contact Steve at (505) 321-6467 for this.

The photo above shows a simple traffic pattern for Hangar 41. We ask that you approach on the taxiway from the west. If the hangar is occupied, hold at location ‘A’ until the previous glider has left and cleared the intersection in front of you. If there’s a lineup, keep your ship in the areas marked by the yellow boxes on the taxiway. The idea is to keep the north/south taxiways and intersections clear for aircraft leaving hangars.

When you leave Hangar 41 after weighing, pull south to the intersection next to ‘A’, turn left (east), go to the next intersection and turn right (south). From here you can tow out to the flight line or back to your tiedown area.
